Hoitenga sworn in as state senator for 36th District

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michele Hoitenga, R-Manton, was sworn in as senator for the 36th District on Wednesday during a ceremony at the Capitol. Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Elizabeth T. Clement administered the oath of office and the senator was joined on the Senate floor by members of her family.

“I am honored to serve on behalf of the people of the 36th District as their voice in the Michigan Senate,” Hoitenga said. “I look forward to working with my fellow senators on issues that are important to the residents of Northern and Mid-Michigan and the future prosperity of our great state.”

Michigan’s 36th Senate District includes Alpena, Alcona, Arenac, Crawford, Iosco, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon and Wexford counties, along with portions of Bay and Manistee counties.
